Am I too old?

I watched this great video today!

It spoke about people 40+ thinking they can't start a business at such an advanced age.

Poppycock I say!

* Colonel Sanders started KFC at age 65

* Sam walton started Walmart when he was 44

* Ray Crock opened his first McDonald's when he was 52

* Sidney Frank was 77 when he started Grey Goose vodka. He sold the company for $2 billion

in 2004 to Bicardi

* And the list goes on and on.

So why do the millenials find it so easy to start businesses?

They have the confidence, they are use to technology?

Why do us older folks think that we are lacking in business savvy?

We have years upon years of practical experience.

That counts for alot!

So the next time you start thinking about starting your own business...

...quit telling yourself that you are TOO OLD!

Depending on the source it shows the average person starts a business between the age of 40-45.

I started my first business when I was 34 years old.

I started my second business when I was 54 years old.

I certainly found starting my second business easier simply due to experience.

Not just business experience but life experience in general.

Anyone with the entrepreneurial spirit can also use their work experience as a transfferable skill.

Most things that you learned in a job can help you run a business.

It's time to get rid of the limiting thoughts as well.

It's unfortunate that far too many online businesses make it appear that you can become successful in a few short

days, weeks or months.

It can be done if you have been in business for many, many years prior to starting a new business.

The average newbie will take many months and even a few years to be making great consistent money.

Please ponder this:

* Did you become a master at driving a car within a day?

* Did you become an excellent cook within a week?

When you started a new job with no experience did you become a manager with a month?

It takes time, perserveriance, education, etc.

Let's celebrate our age and wisdom!

Make your dreams become a reality!

A thought that always spurs me on is:

I don't want to be on my death bed and wonder...what if.

* What if I would have travelled?

* What if I would have taken those dance lessons?

* What if I would have taken a few more risks?
