Many of my friends asked me this.
I was an Optician for many years.
5 years of school to specialize in my field.
I made really good money.
I loved what I did!
Not to brag but I was really good at what I did.
I loved helping people to be able to see great and look amazing in their glasses!
I had alot of really awesome patients.
I looked forward to seeing them, having a chat and helping them with whatever they needed.
What I didn't like was:
* Not getting a raise for 3 years because of the "downturn in the economy"
* Working my butt off and not getting a "pat on the back once in awhile"
* Having to go on medical leave and made to feel bad because of looking after myself rather than putting the company first
* Having no control over my income
* Long commutes
* Being so exhausted when I got home that I would make supper and then go to bed
* Asking if I can take some holiday days and being declined
September 18, 2018 I handed my resignation in and I haven't looked back.
Do I work as hard as I use to?
Yep. Some days I do. Some days not so much.
Do I have control over my income?
Definitely!
Do I have a long commute?
My commute now is from the bedroom to my office which is about 12 steps lol.
When I want to take a holiday I just go.
I now have more time for myself and my family & friends.
I have control of my life again!
That's a very good feeling.
My income hasn't stopped because of all the chaos as of late.
