Why It’s Time to Pay Attention to Microsoft and Bing
Published 05-19-2022
If you’re a marketer or a small business trying to be found online, then there’s a good chance that you will currently spend a fair amount of time performing SEO and probably setting up PPC campaigns.

SEO is ‘search engine optimization and is the process of building up your links and your site content in order to make your site more discoverable through Google. This can help more potential customers find your site, which will lead to more people buying from you (at least that’s the plan!).

PPC meanwhile is ‘Pay Per Click’ and is a method of advertising where you only pay for adverts that actually get clicked. Often this will mean paying for adverts that will appear on Google searches, which you do by using the Google AdWords advertising network.

But why should you only focus on Google?

Because actually, there are a lot of reasons to wake up to Bing and Microsoft. Here’s why…

The Current Lay of the Land

The reason that most people will focus the majority of their efforts on Google is that they know Google has by far the largest share of search traffic. This is indeed true but it’s not as much of a majority as you might think.

Because actually, Bing owns 20% of search traffic while Yahoo (which is powered by Bing) earns 10%. If you aren’t paying any attention to Bing then, that means that you’re walking away from a whopping 30% of your visitors. This is something that you would never do in any other area of business, so why do it now?

What’s more, is that Bing is actually less competitive than Google for advertising. Seeing as PPC works on a ‘bidding system’ (whereby you set a maximum amount you’re willing to pay for each click and never pay more than that), this means you’ll end up paying less for the same amount of clicks on Bing.

How much less? 33.5%. That means with the same budget, you can afford 33.5% more visitors! That makes a big difference to your business.

The Future of Microsoft

But more importantly, you shouldn’t be putting all your eggs in one basket and entirely ignoring the possibility that someday this might all change. And there is a lot of reason to suspect that Microsoft might someday have a bigger stake in the search. After all, its market share is currently growing and that’s without considering all the steps it’s making in the right direction.

For instance, Microsoft now makes a lot of hardware. The Surface line of computers is very popular and rumors about a ‘Surface Phone’ are also very interesting. Then you have the Xbox One and even things like the Microsoft Band.

All of these use Bing as the default search option and all of them use Cortana. What does Cortana do if it can’t answer a question? It loads a Bing search and puts you on that page!

Microsoft and Bing are continuing to grow, so why not try and get a headstart there now?
New Years Resolutions and Driving
Published 05-18-2022

Each year, many Americans make New Year’s resolutions. Some of the most common goals set include getting out of debt and losing weight, but you may want to take a different approach. Would you like your New Year’s resolution to focus on driving? If so, here are a few goals you can set for yourself:

To drive less. Towards the close of 2008, gas prices started to decline. For most Americans, there is no more having to worry about $4 gas. The decrease in gas prices is causing many to return to their cars and their previous driving habits, but continued low gas prices aren’t guaranteed. The best way to ensure you save money on gasoline is to drive less and make it a habit. In addition to less money spent on gasoline, driving less also reduces vehicle wear and tear.

When it comes to driving less, many Americans automatically think it isn’t possible. In most cases, it is. If you are unable to carpool or take public transportation to and from work, examine your other activities. Do you make a special trip each week to get groceries? If so, just stop and shop on your way home from work. By tracking your driving habits for one or two weeks, you may be surprised how many ways you can reduce the miles driven.

To get the car serviced regularly. Many car owners avoid getting their car serviced regularly due to costs. Yes, it is important to save money, but did you know that you can waste even more money by not getting your vehicle needed attention? You can. Be sure to have your oil changed, have your tires changed or rotated, and replace your air filters. Doing so will not only save you money, but it results in a safer and better-valued car.

If money prevents you from getting your car serviced regularly, look for good deals. Always call around to local repair shops to compare prices. Also, use the internet to find money-saving discounts. It is not uncommon to find printable coupons or money-saving coupon codes. And, always remember that a regularly serviced car is likely to save you more money in the long run.

To buy a new car. Are you driving around an old “beater,” car? If so, you may want to make a change. What better time than the New Year? Whether you want to buy a new car or a used car, set the goal for yourself. With today’s economy, it seems as if you must have perfect credit to get a loan. If you do not have reliable transportation right now, save money. Use that money to buy a car or use that money to clean up your credit so you qualify for an auto loan with a low-interest rate.

To drive safer. Although we all try to be safe when driving, it is no secret that some are more careful than others. Do you talk on your cell phone, eat, or play with the radio when driving? These are small tasks, but very risky when driving. Make it your New Year’s resolution to improve your driving. Whether it be focusing only on driving or leaving five minutes early so you aren’t in a rush, do it.

To lower car insurance. If you have been with the same insurance provider for years, you may be paying too much for car insurance. The only way you will know is if you price compare. Make it your New Year’s resolution to lower your car insurance. Even if you can’t find a lower rate elsewhere, improve your driving, pay your car insurance in full, or opt for automatic payment withdrawals, you should be rewarded with a

When you are able to accept things in life, including you and other people you find a way to take charge. When you're in command, it helps you to see how you are able to better your personal life. When you learn to accept you'll learn to discover yourself.

Many individuals in the world believe that when we act the same way at all times, we have instituted our identity. Politically incorrect! We have emotions, thoughts, behaviors, actions, and have been infested by a world of influences both great and foul. Every day we will feel something new, which causes our personality to reflect these modifications.

We live in a world that desensitizes us. We're surrounded by 1000000000000s of influences on TV, in the media, on radio, in homes, government, schools, etc. Each to their own, but everybody is judging somebody at some time, which is something we have to accept. We can't alter these people’s behaviors and ways of thinking, but we may change ours. This is a component of learning and accepting. The best way around the world is to become your own influence and let other influences make another person's life misfortunate.

Once you learn to accept you'll be eager to laugh. For example, if somebody makes you crazy you'll see the humor in his or her actions. You might see the humor in your actions if you make an error and feed into their stupidity. Once you begin to see the humor in life, you'll feel better inside. When you learn to change to better yourself, others might follow. Good conduct has proven far more effective than words to promote others to change.

As you grow you'll feel a fresh hunger, and that hunger will guide you to discover fresh ways to better yourself. In time as you begin to feel better, you will see a need to exercise, eat correctly, hang out with positive influences, and so on.
